Studio 904's "Back to School" fundraiser was a fun and rewarding event!
On August 25, 2002 our staff donated their time at our Mercer Island salon to raise funds for homeless children. The proceeds from this event will be donated to the students of the First Place School to purchase school clothes and supplies. First Place is a community based school which educates children and provides services to the homeless families. We would like to thank Albertsons and QFC for their generous donations of balloons, chips and sodas. Also many thanks to the families who came to support this event.
In addition to money raised at this event, Studio 904 donated 5% of the sales from our "Products for a Better World" from the month of August to the First Place. Our contribution was $1,087.00!
Studio 904 will be participating in the Furry 5K walk on June 9th to raise money for the Seattle Animal Shelter. 5% of the product sales for the month of June will be donated to the Seattle Animal Shelter.
The Seattle Animals Shelter has been in existence since 1972 and has helped hundreds of thousands of people and their pets. The Shelter takes in over 8,000 stray and owner-surrendered animals every year. For more detailed information regarding the Seattle Animal Shelter, click here!
Nikita was around four months old when she was hit by a car. She suffered a broken back leg and was blinded in one eye. A foster family was arranged for Nikita and she was taken into a veterinary clinic to have her injuries assessed. The vet tried to save her leg but instead they needed to amputate. The foster family cared for Nikita during her recovery as well as teaching her the rules of the house, developing some good manners as well as doing some tricks. The foster family also had their own dog so Nikita had someone to play with which helped with her recovery. Nikita quickly become a happy, healthy puppy again.
Rudy had lived on the streets for most, if not all, of her life. A car had hit her and that is how she came to the Seattle Animal Shelter. Rudy recovered from almost all of her injuries but she had completely lost her eyesight. A foster care family took Rudy in while she was recuperating; giving her the medications that she needed, making sure she was eating and giving her the individual attention she needed for a full recovery. Because of her new disability, the foster family needed to work with Rudy to learn how to negotiate steps as well as just getting around the house. Her foster family also had some other cats so Rudy had some companions to play with. Rudy might have had a change in lifestyle but she acclimated well with the help and encouragement of her foster family.
Our Team would like to thank our customers for your continued support. We are thrilled to have been chosen as the "2001 Winner, Oregon and Western Washington Better Business Bureau / US Bank Business of the Year Award".
